Higg Index is an innovative self-assessment tool developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), which can help clothing, footwear manufacturing, retail, and brand businesses of all sizes assess the impact on environmental, social, and labor performance through product lifecycle stages and identify opportunities for improvement.
Higg Facility Tools:
Textiles and footwear are produced in thousands of factories around the world. Each factory plays a crucial role in the sustainable development of the entire industry. Higg Facility Tools provide standardized social and environmental assessments to promote dialogue among value chain partners and improve the environmental and social aspects of the global value chain. This includes the FEM Factory Environment Management Module and the FSLM Facility Social&Labor Module.
The Higg Factory Environment Module (Higg FEM) is mainly applicable to manufacturers and is a tool that standardizes the criteria for measuring and evaluating the environmental performance of factories annually, in order to evaluate their sustainability performance.
Higg FEM factory selects a third-party inspection agency recognized by SAC to complete FEM certification, evaluate its environmental sustainability performance, and promote continuous improvement by manufacturers.
